In addition to these nine baronies, two other regions hold significant interest. The capital city of Caer Leon sits on an island at the confluence of the two major rivers of the kingdom, and is connected to mainland Falkirk by a narrow causeway. It is in this island fortress at the heart of the kingdom that the sovereign typically holds Court, though it remains the sovereign's prerogative to change the venue from time to time, as suits his whims. There is also the mystical island of Avalon, the source and focus of the Light in these lands. Avalon remains shrouded in mystery, not least because it only appears where and when it is needed most. As such, though it is an island, it has been found midst rivers, streams, in the middle of the ocean, in fields and forests alike, and even floating above the ground.
The Regency CouncilThe Companions of the Light are the nobility, the ruling class of the kingdom. At the head of this group are seven Regents, comprising the sovereign and his cabinet of advisors.
